AI Workspace
Definition: A team workspace where an AI assistant is embedded across every module — not bolted on as a paid add-on.
What it is
An AI workspace is a productivity app where AI is a first-class feature inside the product surface, not a separate subscription. Practically, this means the AI can read and write across the workspace's data: it can summarize a CRM contact's history, draft a follow-up email, turn meeting notes into a structured task list, and surface every doc, message, and record relevant to a query — all without leaving the app. Contrast this with 'AI add-on' models where a vendor charges $7–$12/seat extra for a chatbot that only sees one module.
Why it matters
75% of knowledge workers now use AI at work (Microsoft Work Trend Index, 2024). When AI lives outside the workspace (e.g. a separate ChatGPT tab), users lose the data context that makes AI genuinely useful.
