Remote Onboarding
Definition: The async, written, video-supplemented version of in-office new-hire onboarding.
What it is
Remote onboarding is the discipline of making a new remote hire productive without an in-person introduction tour. It requires explicit documentation of org structure, tool access, communication norms, and first-30/60/90-day expectations. The workspace is the medium where remote onboarding lives or dies.
Why it matters
Remote hires who can't find what they need in their first week are 3× more likely to churn in the first 90 days.
